Mohab Abou-Elalla
Video Editor

Awards/Highlights

It was years ago, I took a leap and dropped out of flight school to become an Editor. I've always loved flying. As a kid growing up in Egypt, it represented freedom. But what I loved even more was the art of storytelling, because it represented self expression. My friends and I would memorize lines from our favorite movies and we would reenact them in the street, outside of our building. We eventually got our hand on cheap cameras and began recording. That's how it all began.

Growing up in my environment, the world of TV/MOVIES was always viewed as out of reach. But as I got older, I began to see how much that "out of reach world" lacks representation. Instead of waiting around for the issue to fix itself, I decided to fix it myself. I pursued a career as an Editor.

Fast forward to the present, I have 6 years of Editing experience - working for Genius Brands, Snapchat, TMZ, The United Nations, Glassman Media, PBS, and more. I've also earned two Emmy nominations, and I still carry my ambitions to change the world through the art of storytelling.
